Reclustering and Edges
Once you have Nodes and Clusters in your Space, there are many ways that Scheme allows you to dig deeper into your work and data.
Reclustering
As we’ve already mentioned, you can at any time recluster your work by clicking the “Recluster graph” icon in the bottom toolbar. Scheme will automatically organize your data based on a number of signals and similarities in the data.
Moving Nodes and Clusters
At any time, you can select and drag Nodes and Clusters around the Scheme canvas. You can also use the multi-select tool to not only move Nodes and Cluster around, and take other actions as well.
To use the Multi-select tool:
Click the Selection Tool icon (an arrow) in the far left of the bottom toolbar
Use your mouse to select an area on the Space
Once selected, a new toolbar will appear on the lefthand side of the Space
This toolbar allows you:
Add the selected Nodes and Clusters to a Project
Add them to a Presentation
Add a Comment
Connect or Disconnect Edges between Nodes
Lock or unlock the Nodes and Clusters
Stack (collapse) or Unstack (expand) the Nodes and Clusters
Query the entire selected area (very powerful!)
Delete the selected area
Edges
You can also make manual changes to your Clusters and how Nodes connect by using Edges.
Edges are the connectors between your Nodes and Clusters. Scheme’s drag-and-drop interface allows you to manually move Edges between Nodes.
Click on an Edge Bubble on one of the sides of a Node
Drag the Edge to another Node’s Edge Bubble to connect them
If you hover over any Edge in a Space, a + sign will appear. Clicking on that allows you to query the Edge, meaning that you can investigate the connection between the Nodes.
Finally, at any time you can Hide or Show all Edges by clicking the Edge icon at the far right of the bottom toolbar.
